The same thing that makes our cars great handlers also makes them not launch well. When you see a sloppy domestic car take off, and the thing leans back on to the rear wheels, that looks sloppy but is good for launches. Our car is designed to no major weight transfer takes place, so it's stable in turns and braking. But when you want to launch hard, you want all your weight on the rear wheels.
